Yellow morning light illuminates the sand bottom through 10 feet of clear blue turquoise water at Sand Dollar Beach. Sitting on a surfboard is an inspiring viewpoint to study the shimmering values of yellow sunlight filtering through the blue green water. Making many sketches from memory allowed me to explore the effects of clear illumination, color, light, and harmony in nature. The whole painting is constructed of paint brush marks 2 inches long and ¼ of an inch wide.
